The importance of a private cloud, such as AnyWare’s, is increasingly being recognized compared to using services and solutions from big tech companies (Microsoft, AWS & Google). With the changing geopolitical landscape, having full control over your data is becoming a more pressing topic of discussion. A private cloud enables all forms of deployment.

The CLOUD Act (Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act) poses significant risks for organizations relying on American Big Tech for their data storage and processing. This U.S. legislation allows the government to access data stored by American companies, even if that data is hosted outside the U.S. In other words, any data held by U.S.-based cloud providers—such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure—can be subject to U.S. government surveillance requests, potentially without the knowledge or consent of the data owner.

Given today’s geopolitical tensions and increasing concerns about digital sovereignty, this creates a high-risk scenario for businesses, especially those handling sensitive or strategic data.
